The kit comes with a handy USB “stick” which plugs directly into any USB port and is compatible with computers that run Macintosh operating systems.
The kit also ships with a CD containing HousePort® software. Houseport® with its MAC compatible USB to Z-Wave Adapter is a complete Z-Wave enabled Home Control System capable of creating, deleting, managing and controlling a Z-Wave network. Up to 232 Modules can participate in a network. Control lights, small appliances, window coverings, thermostats, etc., with the push of a button. Houseport® can trigger dozens of Z-Wave scenes manually or automatically for total control at your fingertips.
Houseport® is designed to function as a primary or secondary controller in a Z-Wave Home Control Network. Using a MAC, you can create custom scheduled events to trigger your Z-Wave scenes on a schedule. In addition, the software system has a built-in clock with astronomical features to determine sunrise and sunset times. Want to turn on the outside flood lamps at sunset seven days a week? No problem. Houseport® keeps track of sunrise or sunset times so you don’t have to. Want to turn the same lights off at 11:00pm? No problem. Scheduled events are a snap with the schedule creator feature.
Additionally, Houseport® has an automatic offset feature to turn your pre-programmed scenes at varying times to give that lived-in look to your home when you are away.
Houseport® comes complete with a Mac compatible USB to Z-Wave® adapter. To get it going simply plug the adapter into any free USB port on your MAC. The computer will automatically recognize the Adapter. The included CD contains the Houseport® Home Control software which installs from a CD drive. From there you can join an existing Z-Wave network or create a new one. Just get a few Z-Wave modules to control you lights, thermostats, motorized window coverings etc.
