EZUIRT is a multi-functional device that a) converts signals from IR remote controllers into INSTEON and X10, b) converts INSTEON commands into IR signals, and c) distributes the IR signals received through up to eight external emitters (IR Blaster function.) This versatility allows control of anything connected to an INSTEON or X10 network with the same remotes used with audio-visual/entertainment equipment. As an X10 transceiver, your EZUIRT receives and decodes all 256 X10 addresses from an IR remote and sends them over the power line, replacing the IR543 or IR543H. In INSTEON mode, any X10 address or IR code can be setup to send INSTEON group commands (up to 40 groups) or broadcast messages to control single or multiple INSTEON devices. EZUIRT is also an IR sender, capable of converting INSTEON commands to IR codes that your A/V equipment can readily understand. A built-in IR sensor can be bypassed with an included external one allowing placement flexibility.
