TriggerLinc is the world's first INSTEON magnetic contact sensor that wirelessly controls lights and appliances throughout your house. When magnetic contact is broken, such as a door or window being opened, TriggerLinc can do things like turn on lights, set the thermostat to its comfort setting, or trigger a custom event in HouseLinc 2. Gain the peace of mind knowing that you'll be alerted when the back door sneaks ajar or the side window slides open. Useful for doors, windows, drawers, sheds, cabinets, and anything else that opens, TriggerLinc is a wireless, easy-to-use solution for adding convenience and awareness to any INSTEON-controlled home. An AA battery is required and included.
How it works
In the example illustration above, TriggerLinc is mounted to a door frame and the included magnet attaches to the door. When the magnet is seperated from TriggerLinc (door opening) it sends a wireless RF signal to a plug-in Access Point (sold seperately) which in turn relay the signal over your existing power wires to turn on things like lamps or wall switches. When the door is closed, TriggerLinc turns those same lights off. While at least 1 Access Point is required when using an RF transmitter, at least 2 are recommended to ensure a reliable INSTEON network.
Required Accessories
An Access Point is required. Note: SignaLinc RF's do not work with INSTEON Wireless Open/Close Sensor.
Note: TriggerLinc does not transmit X10-compatible RF signals.

Quick-Start Guide
How it Works:
Out of the box, TriggerLinc is set up to turn on a light (or other device) when your door is opened and off when the door is closed. This default setting is great for garage doors, sheds or closets where you want the lights to turn on when the door is opened and you can be sure the lights are off when the door is closed. TriggerLinc's second setting allows for a more custom type of control: Turn on (or off) one set of lights or devices when the door is opened and turn on (or off) another set of devices when the door is closed. For example, this feature provides uses such as:
- Have lights turn on when you open the door, but leave them on when you close it
- Have lights turn on to full bright when you open the door, and dim them to 50% when the door is closed
-
Plus many more
TriggerLinc also contains an input for standard security sensors, so you can monitor many doors / windows from a single TriggerLinc.
