INSTEON is a powerful, home-control networking technology that will enhance the comfort, safety, convenience and value of your home. The INSTEON Access Points (& Wireless Phase Couplers) are the most important part of the INSTEON network. Access Points allow RF-only INSTEON devices (like a RemoteLinc) to send commands to power line-only INSTEON devices (like a SwitchLinc). If you need more coverage for your INSTEON RF devices, you only need to add another Access Point. Also, when used in pairs, Access Points can couple the phases in your electrical wiring allowing commands to freely travel to all locations in your home.

The Access Points create your dual-mesh INSTEON network by simultaneously transmitting and receiving INSTEON commands across both radio frequency and your home's existing wiring. When used as a pair, the Access Points also couple the two different electrical phases of your home. Each Access Point also repeats INSTEON commands, adding to the network's robust reliability. Please Note: Access Points repeat INSTEON signals and not X10.
